Plots
Trip. Trip, Trip, Trip. He's my trouble maker. Unlike Jonas, who will be more accepting of the situation, Trip will have none of it. He wants to go to home an' this sure as hell don't look like Earth! He'll probably be on a first name basis with security for not wanting to forget his dream self.

It doesn't help that his City history is almost completely opposite himself. Where he was driven and motivated to get through school and Starfleet so he could work on the Warp 5 engine and someday go out into space. Rudolph had no such motivation so he was basically a talented slacker. Rudolph was an only child in a small family where Trip had a huge family. And Trip doesn't know anything about owning a store or being content in what he would see as a small role. He is not going to be a happy camper to be forced into this role.

Then there are the twin Malcolms, Gavin and Vincent. Oh that is going to throw him for a huge loop. Why are there two of his best friend from the dream here?

Looots of plot for Trip but I'm more then willing to throw him in others!

City
Rudolph is from the south most part of the Southeastern part of the continent. He practically grew up on the water in a small family of just him and his parents. He was perfectly happy working on boat engines and going diving, with about no drive to go any further in his life. The beach was the perfect place for him. But his parents weren’t going to support him forever and, recognizing his brilliance with machines, they forced him into the University in Diamond City.

Predictably, Rudolph flunked out through just not going. His parents wouldn’t have him back so he wandered the city for a bit before apprenticing himself to the elderly owner of a pawn and repair shop, who couldn’t keep up with the repair work. They made quite a team, Rudolph fixing things and the elderly man, Chuck, running the store. When Chuck died, Rudolph took over the store and ran Chuck’s Pawn on his own.

Now, Rudolph would have been just as friendly as Trip so your Sleeper's city self could have known him. The pawn shop carries anything and everything so it's the place to find something. Rudolph was also very good at repair work, but with Trip's training, he's better and can make things from scratch so if your Sleeper needs something made, Trip is their guy.
