Haine Otomiya / Mai Kaneko ([personal profile] waltzhagen)

Plots
Haine is a really simple person, and isn't so keen to the whole not believing what's happening thing. She does know that she loved people in her dream and she still knows that emotion so she's certain that's real, no matter if the dream itself was or not. In her home world, she had a lot of self-esteem issues due to her parents and just the general attitude of some people around her, and her City self that she's been told she was shares a lot of that, and that's taken it's toll on her. All in all, she's still a bright individual, in the shiny and happy sense, but her trait of holding a lot in and not being completely genuine has just been made a liiiiiitle bit worse.

City
Her city self is Mai Kaneko and she's pretty useless except for being able to do pretty much anything she's told. She works as an assistant dance instructor, has no real family that she likes to talk about, but still manages to have quite a large sum of money, but that's for her to know and for other people not to know. It's not like she'll ever bring it up anyway. She doesn't have any ties and is pretty alone in the city, which is another thing that's getting her down. In her dream, she had friends that she loved and they loved her, but now she's alone and that's No Bueno. She's not openly angsty, but she's fifteen, hormonal, and just went through some shocking revelations and is having an identity crisis, so ymmv.

Lithuania / Kęstutis Kalnietis ([personal profile] sakotis)

Plots
Lithuania, on the other hand, really isn't questioning the whole thing too much, although it is kind of trippy to dream up 1003 years of existence. He's really submissive and listens extremely well, especially to people in positions of power, so he's not going to openly second guess most of it. There's also a big inconsistency with his dream and his city life. In his dream, he had large scars all over his back and believably elsewhere on his body, whereas in the city he really only has some weathered hands and a nick or two on his arm. To him there's more evidence for it being all a lie than what actually happened to him. Not to mention if it was real, he'd be a country, divorced from a man, experienced countless abuses, watched people die, fought in wars, and have been forced to strip by a bunch of dudes. And none of that is possible, no siree.

City
In the city, he's Kęstutis Kalnietis (why did I pick a name that involved installing a Polish keyboard...), from the South. He's a grad student and a part-time nurse, living in squalor in the outer part of the city. Again, he's a guy with no ties here (that he knows of) and it's actually kind of surprising to him. He's not the most perceptive guy and in his little dream land, he was actually pretty popular and well thought of. You just don't know what you've got until it's gone. He works at a hospital in the middle city and commutes from work to home either on foot in the mornings or by cheap bus in the evenings.
